Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan returned home on Tuesday to a warm welcome from cheering fans, after an 'ordeal' at the Newark airport in America where he was detained and questioned for two hours.

In a prèss conference held at his home 'Mannat' in Bandra, Shah Rukh echoing Salman's comment said, "It's not a big deal. They have certain rules and we must follow it." And requested media not to blow the issue out of proportion.

SRK added, "I don't want special treatment. I am nobody. I am sure that normal people go through worse treatment."

However, Shah Rukh admitted that he was little disheartened and embarrassed by a few irrelevant questions.

When asked if he will go to America again, the actor replied, "I will go to the US when work demands but I will limit my travels. I have no complaints against the system but I wish it should be more streamlined and less cumbersome."

Shah Rukh Khan Detained Two Hours at Newark Airport, AFP Says

Aug. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Indian film star Shah Rukh Khan today said he was detained for two hours at a U.S. airport because of his Muslim name, Agence France-Presse reported.

Khan said officials at Newark Airport in New Jersey questioned him and then released him after the Indian embassy in the U.S. intervened, AFP reported. Immigration officers wanted to know why Khan was visiting the U.S. after his name appeared on a computer screen at a counter, the news service said.

“Khan is a Muslim name, and I think the name is common on their checklist,” the actor told the CNN-IBN television channel. “I was waiting for my bags. I thought it was nice of them to take me to another room, but that was apparently a second check. I had my papers in order.”

The actor was going to Chicago to take part in celebrations today to mark India’s Independence Day, he said, according to AFP.

“We are trying to ascertain the facts of the case, to understand what took place,” according to an e-mailed statement from U.S. Ambassador to India Timothy Roemer. “Shah Rukh Khan, the actor and global icon, is a very welcome guest in the United States. Many Americans love his films.”

Poor Salman! Katrina to act with Shah Rukh

New Delh, August 11: King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan and the lucky mascot Katrina Kaif will be seen together in a big budget film!

For all of you, who are rubbing eyes in disbelief, Yash Raj production House has roped in their favourite SRK and India's Barbie girl Katrina in their next film which will go to the floors early next year.It is reported that either Aditya Chopra or Kabir Khan may direct the movie.

"SRK has remained in the safe zone, he needs to be a tad more adventurous about his co-stars, and that's where Katrina comes into the picture," a source was quoted by a national daily as saying.

Don't know how Katrina's beau Salman Khan will take the news after he had fallout with SRK in Kat's birthday party in 2008. But our glam girl Katrina is not letting her personal issues and Salman's sour relationship with others affect her career.
